At work I have a windows desktop that I need to use for somethings, other stuff I use my personal MBP or IPP for. I'd like to use one keyboard and mouse and maybe share the monitor between the two (USBC ultra wide) is the best way to do that a KVM switch to go back and forth or is it easier to keep doing what I'm doing and moving keyboard/mouse around?

In my opinion, keep your personal computer separate from your work computer and just move between the two without sharing anything.

I am using Logitech wireless devices. The MX series can connect to 3 different devices over Bluetooth or with the appropriate Logitech unifying receiver. The MX Master 3 Mouse and MX Keys devices use the older Logitech Unifying receiver. The MX Mechanical keyboard and MX Master 3S mouse use the Logitech new Unifying receiver. I have the MX Mechanical and MX Master 3S mouse now but I've used MX Keys and MX Master in the past. They are both wonderful pairs of devices. In my case, I connect to my home personal PC and Mac with Bluetooth. I have a Unifying receiver on my work Windows laptop. The mouse and keyboard each have a switch to move between the 3 different devices. Both the mouse and keyboard can route through the single unifying receiver so you only have to plug one thing into the computer when using it.

I also use the MX Keys and MX Master 3 Mouse.
  • The keyboard is awesome, 5 stars. Easy to switch.
  • The mouse is a little more annoying because they put the input change on the bottom so you have to physically lift and press the buttom.
