I am looking for a software for my MBP to enable me to make labels for printing. I have looked throughout the Mac App store, but have been unable to locate an application to complete this task. Does anyone know of any software that would help me sort, create, and print labels?

I would be using the software to make the labels for the envelopes of my Christmas Card.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Avery, the label folks (search the name), have free templates and, I think, stand-alone software for most of the standard labels. Work with any brand labels and printers. (Use ink jet labels with ink jet printers, laser labels with laser printers.)

Thanks. Just tried it out; works perfectly.

Duff-Man says...you actually don't need any software from Avery's site, you can just use the online wizard and it'll generate the labels for you. I did it just the other day for some gift tags and it worked pretty well:

Thanks for the direct link

What about handling a set of addresses...as in a Christmas card list? I was using a database within AppleWorks to do this in the past. Could I easily print mutliple addresses from Address Book?

Thanks!

Yes. Just import the addresses into Address Book, if they're not already there, then print.

They are, but we aren't sending cards to everyone in the Address Book. Can you easily specify which addresses to print? I used a dummy variable in AppleWorks which I did a 'Find' for to show only those records that matched and were therefore the ones supposed to get a card (something like 40 or my 100+ addresses).

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Sure. You can easily create a group, like "Christmas card list" and add whatever contacts you want to that group. Then click on any contact in that group, Command-A to select all the contacts in that group, and print, selecting "Mailing Labels" as the Style.

Terrific! I appreciate the help!
