If you have a UMBP with LabTick, try this.
I bought a new Cinema Display the other day so I came home and set it up, and wanted to check out a movie on it. I put the movie in the superdrive, and then turned the MBP screen brightness all the way down (off) and did the same with the keyboard backlighting, so that it also was off.
I put in the DVD and began playing it on the LED display. After about two minutes, however, the keyboard backlighting came on and was flickering arbitrarily. If I adjusted the backlighting to be higher than off, the problem went away and the backlighting was illuminated nice and solid, so this only happens when the backlighting is set to be off.
I have the most current version of LabTick and have tried uninstalling/reinstalling and have gotten the same result.
