Hello, I am new to the whole home server FTP thing but I know a few things. I have a Lacie 2Big Network Drive that is in RAID 1 mode. This makes a copy of the file written onto the drive twice, one on one side of the drive, and the other on the other part of the drive. I have FTP, SMB, and AFP setup to access this drive. If I am on my local network I see it under shared computers as a Time Capsule icon and I can access it and read/write files onto it if I log onto it. I can also read/write if I am logged on through http locally. I can access and read/write the drive by connecting to it through SMB through apple's Go menu in Finder. I can also connect through FTP locally by putting the IP of the drive into the Connect to Server option in Finder, BUT I can ONLY READ AND DOWNLOAD FILES. This is the problem. I have set up port forwarding through my router to go through port 21 and I have accessed the drive from a buddy's house through the port forwarding rule. Although when I did this I could only READ AND DOWNLOAD FILES that I wrote to it locally through the shared menu in my finder window or through SMB. I have looked through the lacie network administration page and applications and I can't find anything on the properties of FTP. I would really like to be able to write files through FTP so I could send files to it away from home. Thanks, AND PLEASE HELP!!!!
