I have a LaCie d2 triple interface drive, and I have a WD MyBook Pro.
The Pro comes with some software, presumably a driver, which deals with the button on the front of the drive. If I press it, the drive unmounts and then powers down.
If I press the button on the d2, the drive just powers down (inevitably causing Finder to hang).
I started trying to contact LaCie to ask them this, but they require that I register an account and then register my hard drive before I can file a ticket on it, which is an archaic customer support practice, so I was hoping someone here would know the answer.
Is there similar software available, either from LaCie or a third party, to unmount the drive when pressing the button?
