Hello. I have been using LaCie d2 Professional external drives for quite a few years. No problems at all (so far). The first one (6Tb) was a metal coloured version (and still use it as an extra backup drive for some files). The one I'm using at the moment (10Tb) is black. Permanently attached to my Mac (Mac Studio Display).
I have almost 7Tb filled on this external LaCie, so I start thinking about a new external HD. For both Time Machine backups / copies of progs / files / etc.
Sometimes I work on image files straight from this external, and that works fine for me.
I' m using a Mac Mini M4 Pro.
I do not want a NAS (have used it before and I don't like it).

What I still cannot find:
- Does the d2 Professional use Seagate Barracuda Professional OR IronWolf Professional? I know the IronWolf Pro is supposed to be a more NAS oriented drive, but on info from LaCie I also find this in the d2 (?).
- Did LaCie maybe change from Barracuda Pro to Ironwolf Professional?
- Maybe different between number of Tb storage?

Thank you!

It seems the LaCie D2 now uses the Seagate IronWolf Pro Enterprise now....according to own spec sheet. But...on different sellers sites I read about the Barracuda. Very confusing!

....update....(not clear to me yet; some companies sell it, advertising the Barracuda inside...others tell me there' s the Ironwolf Pro inside)
