I didn't have a bit of trouble with my d2 quadra (500GB) for more than two years, until it got knocked over while the disk was spinning. Warranty didn't cover being knocked over by a kitten, so I replaced it with a G-Tech mini (which I have had a lot of trouble with). I'm thinking about replacing the drive in the LaCie enclosure rather than buying an entirely new hard disk. This would be my first attempt at such a task. I've found some instructions online, and it doesn't look that hard.

Any recommendations for a drive, and a place to buy one? Or would it make more sense to just start fresh?

Thanks,

Faye
