i have a USB 2.0 external 500GB drive. its filled. i know that it is easy to open the drive container.

heres my question:
can i open it and put in a 3.5inch drive or watever, like SSD???

thanks, phil

Most SSDs are 2.5".

I'd recommend keeping that drive and purchasing an additional external hard drive. Or, if you wanted an SSD, you can get the SSD + a 2.5" USB or FireWire enclosure, and put the drive in there.
