I have just ordered this :

LaCie LightScribe Firewire & USB2, double layer up to 8.5GB DVD¦RW 16x4x12x multiformat drive + CD-RW, with PC DVD authoring utilities, Firewire & USB cable, & 1st 4.7GB media. 'd2 model'

Is this going to be fully compatible with my Macbook Pro? Like, am I going to have any problems using it to burn things through iMovie or other Apple apps?

Cheers

You should have no problem. It should be recognized right away when you plug it in.

You will need to install the software that comes with it if you want to use LightScribe.

Nice one. Hope it works. This will be my 3rd external DVD Writer that I have tried to get to work properly with my Mac (more specifically Toast 8). My current on is an LG one , but will not burn DVD's at 16x. Tried everything to get it working.

Then I bought a Freecom USB2/Firewire - that wouldn't work full stop. So now I am trying Lacie, and this drive is sold by Apple so it better bloody work!

Not arsed about Lightscribe either. I buy printable discs and print my own images on my printer. Looks much better!
