Lacie ext. hdd - won't mount on mbp, works fine on other computers

My Lacie Rugged 1tb is no longer mounting on my 2011 mbp running 10.6.8.
It does not show up in Disk Utility nor System profiler. It still works fine with any other computer – both macs and pc's.

I've tried resetting pram without any luck.

Please help me out.
Must be a problem with my mac.

More than likely it's not your computer, but the firmware of the drive not being up to date for the computer.

Well is it possible to update firmware on the mbp, or does it have to be a computer where it will mount? My g5 mounts the disk, but will not run the firmware-updater. My MBP doesnt seem to find any devices when running the update

Try another USB/Firewire device in the same port you plugged the HD in. See if that shows up. You might have a bad port. If you have a USB hub, it could be bad. You might have a bad USB cable. etc...
