Hi, i'm going to be getting a LaCie 500GB external for my 20" Alu iMac, and I was reading about formatting and i'm unsure on how I should format it. I'm going to be getting Windows XP to use with Bootcamp, so i'll be switching back and forth between that and Leopard. I was reading if you are going to be switching back and forth between PC and Mac, to use FAT32. Should I do this in my case? Will I be able to partition some of the external drive for Windows and the rest for Leopard? I'm unsure of this, so hopefully someone might now.

fat32 can be read by both and if you need to share across os's this is the way to go

if you dont need to share and just want more space for each, you can partition the external any way you like
