When I bought these, had my doubts as I couldn't find any good reviews or even photos anywhere. Since I doubt I'm the one one who looked and thought about buying these things, took some photos and are willing to answer whatever questions you may have about them.

So if you have any questions, ask away.

Can I ask, why in Gods name would you want FireWire speakers?

Because USB speakers (atleast ones that get their power from USB also) are generally shiet and are very very quiet. And these get their power from Firewire (which can deliver ALOT more power then USB) and in turn are as loud as my old Harman/Kardon ones which had a HUGE brick.

I just have these plugged directly into the Apple Display which is plugged into the MBP and I don't need anything else.

LaCie speakers with Mac Pro

Hi Ink, I've just set up a new Mac Pro with LaCie firewire speakers using a 400 to 800 adaptor, they show up in the midi sound control panel and this has also been set to 44100hz, when I click on 'configure speakers' they both make a terrible bang:( and then repeating loud clicking noise like interference.

This can only be silenced by unplugging, when I play an itunes track they do actually work! But when I go to change the volume or anything else, the clicking noise comes back and they fade in and out.

Obviously something is not happy, I'm waiting for tech support from LC, just wondered if you had any ideas?

Cheers G.
