Lacie HD static electricity

I have a LaCie external USB 3 HD and I recently touched the case and shocked it with static electricity. I'm wondering if I damaged the drive. Please help.

This is unlikely unless the hard-drive was not in an enclosure. Best thing to do is run a S.M.A.R.T. check on the external hard-drive to see if there is any damage.
