Hi,

I bought two lacie little big disk one of 2TB (5400 rpm) and one of 1TB (7200 rpm)

My goal was to use the slower to put inside an SSD to boot my imac, and use the faster as scratch disk for FCX and Premiere. Both came configured in striping, so I tested both with diskspess. Obviusly I was expecting the 1tb version to be faster being a 7200rpm, but with my big surprise the 2tb 5400 rpm was faster.

How can you explain this?

I read that its possibile to use the little big disk without the fan (its very noisy) since I use it for professional work, and I use it intensily (scrath disk) , do you think its safe to use them without fan, or it will be a risk?
Thank you.

Dani
