I searched the Forum and found no issue as I am writing about.

Mac User.

I just purchased a LaCie d2 USB 3.0 Thunderbolt Series 4TB External Hard Drive (9000303) and intended to save the LaCie Setup Assistant and Readme.txt files before formatting, however I failed to do so.

Does anyone have recent copies of these files you would be willing to send to me.

I know it might seem strange to some I wish to have these files, but I do and I am not interested in any of the alternative downloads available on the LaCie site.

If you have these files and are willing to share them with me, please private message me so I can send you my email address.

Thank you very much!

You may be out of luck.

When you get a new drive from LaCie, it is specially formatted and partitioned with the Setup Assistant residing in a visible portion of the disk and the other support files not visible. Running the assistant copies this information to the system drive you booted from, and then repartitions and reformats the drive based on the configuration you requested.

The support files are within a folder on your boot drive.

What are you actually trying to do? Restore the drive to the same configuration as it was when you first opened the box?

If not, simply use Disk Utility to partition and format the drive as you want it to be.

Thanks for the replies, but you folks are over-thinking this.

FYI, my drive is formatted fine and works perfectly, but I still wish to have the original files that came stock on the drive and kick myself for failing to save them when I had the chance and now turn to the Internet community for assistance.

If you have the files to share with me that would be fantastic, otherwise no need to try and provide other solutions or theorize why or how.

Others out there have likely saved these files and may be willing to share them, just like I share Safari 5 for anyone who misses the Activity Window removed from Safari 6.

Thanks very much!
