Lack of Chrome icon in dock

So I don't know why this is happening, as I've never seen the issue before. So I installed chrome normally, making sure not to open the app until I ejected the .dmg file. However, while the icon shows up in Launchpad normally, however when I drag the icon to the dock it loses the image and shows a blank canvas with app store symbol. When i open the app, without it already being on the dock, then move it around the dock the icon reappears, but if i quit chrome, the icon disappears. Does anyone else have this issue or know how to fix it?
