I have seen lots of angst about no firewire port, but is anyone else put off by the lack of an expresscard slot?

Basically puts anyone using an ATT or VZW aircard out of luck as well as no way to read SD cards from a camera.

Does this inconvenience anyone?

Why would people be put off? The consumer notebook has never had a card slot.

Because

For $1,300 or $1,400 one would expect something as basic as a card slot. Hell, cheapo Dells have them, and uploading photos without an external card reader or maybe using a WiMAX card someday isn't too much to ask, whereas another $700 is.

I fail to see what would be wrong with plugging in a card with a USB card reader... but that is only one case, though I do believe, while less elegant, most mobile broadband and such cards are offered in a USB version. I am not put off that Apple has never put an expresscard slot in any "consumer" laptop, but I am disgusted by the lack of FireWire.
