Lack of Message Notifications in iOS 11.1 PB and Apple Watch?

Running the latest public beta on iOS 11.1, using a iPhone 6s and Apple Watch series 2, watchOS 4. I am getting inconsistent message notifications on my iPhone and AW. Messages will come in and I will not get a notification on my watch.

Is there a known issue out there with notifications and the latest PB and the AW? Thanks. Haven't seen it discussed, or maybe I missed it.
