Lag when auto wallpaper change

Hi,
I have searched everywhere but I could not find the answer, please help me.
my problem is that every time the wallpaper transitions, I noticed there is a lag in the GUI, I was wonder if anyone have a solution for this? Thanks in advance.
My computer specs is:
5 gb RAM
DP 2.0GHz
GeForce 6800 Ultra DDL

The obvious solution is to turn off the wall-paper switching. That said, I did this for awhile and there was no lag at all. It was kinda neat watching the wallpaper cross-fade while other apps were going. So, I dunno what the problem is.

I'm on an 8-core X5355 MP from 2006 and when I tried it I had 4GB of RAM installed. Graphics Card = 7300
