I purchased my Macbook in November 2006 and up until 6 months ago, survived on 512 MB RAM and good old Tiger. I recently upgraded to 2 GB RAM and Snow Leopard, and all was well for about 2 weeks, when my computer kept giving me that strange multilingual alert to restart. The RAM was then replaced because it was "bad", as the support guy told me, and all was well until about 4 months ago.
The issue now is : about 85% of the time I'm playing a video, whether it be on something like YouTube, Hulu, Quicktime, or VLC, my whole macbook gradually starts lagging, bringing the keyboard and cursors down with it. Sometimes the restart alert comes back. What's worse, the lagging (which resembles slow loading videos) seems to completely trip up my speakers, causing them to become really choppy and scratchy. Muting my macbook and giving it a rest seems to help, as well as closing and reopening the macbook, but this only solves the speaker situation until it starts chopping up again. I'm thinking of calling in and asking what the deal is, since I've clicked around and haven't found much info, but perhaps I've been missing a piece. Please help! Any advice is appreciated
