iPhone XS Max Laggy Memoji?

not even sure if this is already talked about here.. But my god!! I can’t even preview the Memoji let alone send any that are on track with my facial movements / motions cause the lag is so bad.. Anybody else ?

I found them laggy when I first setup my phone. I suspect it will still doing stuff in the background because after it sat overnight on wifi it was no longer laggy. I've not seen it laggy again since then.
