LAN/Wireless tools, help?

Hello...

i was just wondering if there is anything out there, im sharing a flat with a couple of mates (and thier pcs) and they seem to be torrenting all the time. not just is it illegal but i have no useable internet connection most of the time even tho i pay the bill. Is there any tools for limiting bandwidth or disallowing internet connection for certain programs.

its netgear, and i cant find the tools on the built in OS

what netgear router do you have? I have one at it allows me to block ports as well as setting up MAC Address filtering and even websites.
