HAHA HA HA HA HA HA!!

He had trillions of HOT teenage girls idolizing him and wanting to sleep with him and then he goes and sleeps with some dude.

Well I'm not surprised at all. But I do have to say it's rather sad that he felt the need to hide it at all. I mean it's ok to be gay and a sex icon for 12 year old girls. In fact it's probably safer that :eek:
 
Is it wrong of me to think that if he had come out while in the band, it could have garnered even more success? I'm sure gay youth and teenyboppers could have went gaga over him, then, too.

I've got lots of respect for AFI's singer since he's come out and the band is still together, still rockin' out, and still getting a ton of positive publicity.

Oh did he actually come out publicly? I haven't paid much attention to the punk scene in a few years.

Yes, but most of those teenage girls were about 14.

Anyway, he probably had trillions of hot gay guys after him as well, so if you look at it that way it'd be just as funny if he turned out to be straight :rolleyes:

:edit: dornoforpyros, AFI counts as punk?! No way... I've only heard one album but it's quite poppy, much more mainstream rock than punk. I mean, they headlined a relatively big show. Preceding acts were The Strokes, Franz Ferdinand, HIM, etc.
 
I used to be obsessed with him. Haha don't laugh at me! :p Even I'm not surprised though. I remember him saying in an article he wished all the girls would stop screaming for him all the time- I thought it was just about the sound level, but now it seems he might have felt different if there were boys screaming for him...hmmm...
 
It will be interesting to see if the other guys in the group had any idea. Or if just to fit in with the others, he was actually nailing the girl groupies. Dosent really matter in the long run, but im just a tiney bit curious how far he went to hide things.

Sad that he felt he had to hide the fact he was gay, but cool at the same time that he was concerned about the other guys careers. You dont find that kind of loyalty in many places...

Good for him.

haha toche'...ok well they WERE punk back when I paid attention to punk.

Let me rephrase that, "I haven't paid attention to the radio or what the kids at hot topic are listening to in a few years"
 
Good for him about being true to him self, but he still never going to be on my iPod(or Mac) because his songs are less then good

I'm a fan of AFI and never knew that.

Definitely cool that it didn't change anything.

I used to be in love with him. I can remember praying every night for this day to come. :rolleyes: Yeah...I'm glad those days are over with.
 
Good for him for coming out, and for all of folks' really supportive of him comments on this thread so far. I know a few folks in "the industry" and it is really hard to be openly gay or lesbian, even these days with really popular folks like Elton John and Melissa Etheridge being very out and proud.

But I have to say that Lance Bass is no Andy Bell. I think the lesson we've all learned here is that gays can still perform bad music.
