Ok, really really dumb question, but how do you enable the landscape mode on the home screen of the i6+? I have lock orientation off, but when I turn the phone to landscape mode, the home screen doesn't rotate.

Either unlock portrait orientation lock in control center or the app doesn't support landscape orientation.

It's unlocked in Control Center. I just remember and looked at Apple's site it shows the 6+ can do landscape on home screen. oh well

ok this must be a bug. I rotate the my iPhone 6 plus and the Home/Spring Board does not rotate. Rotate works in apps like Calendar, Mail, Notes... etc.

Perhaps some new setting that needs to be enabled somewhere first?

i think it's a bug in the early software builds. Apple will need to release an update to fix it. My Guess.

----------

I have iOS 8.0 (12A366)

Landscape does not work for iPhone 6 Plus.

Solved!!!

Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Display Zoom
and make sure Standard is set.

Works now!

I wish they would enable this on the 6. The plus is too big for my tastes, but I find myself browsing the web, watching video in landscape mode quite a bit, would love if the home screen rotated too.

It Works. Disabled Zoom. User error on my part. Kids strange why the Zoom disables the rotation. Happy day.

Yes I found it by changing the display option. When I initially setup my 6 Plus I had chosen the zoom display option and was wondering why it wouldn't go into landscape mode on the home screen. Then I thought to try and put it in standard display and it worked. I'm still a bit baffled why it doesn't work when zoom display is on.

The 6 is too small for it. That's why it doesn't have it.

Thank you for asking this…it was bugging me too.

Setting it to Standard also allows the Texting app to split the screen.

I've decided I don't like it after all. I'm going back to ZOOM! The icons seem to fill int he screen better.

There's too much dead space when it's on Standard, imo.

Anyway, thanks!!!

As someone who is visually impaired I order the 6+ and love the landscape mode, but it I can't use landscape in zoomed, that's going to piss me off (still waiting for my phone reservation to be sent out (Fido).

Hopefully if enough prople send feedback to Apple they will allowed landscape in zoomed mode as well as on the 6.

Well so far the only differences are in texting and on the home screen, that I can tell.

Rotating the home screen in zoomed or standard mode would not make the icons any bigger, it only shows them in landscaped mode versus portrait.

In texting, the texts in landscape are only using part of the screen (standard mode) so if you are visually impaired you probably wouldn't like that anyway.
