My series 4 has trouble with this app in the pool. It seems like the water knocks the watch and turns off the lock and makes it unreliable for counting calories. Perhaps this is a issue with the series 4 and older watches but not with the series 6 and SE watches? Anyone having trouble like this with their watch? My mom has a SE which is newer than the series 4 so perhaps her watch does not have this issue. Anyone?

when I do lap swims I don’t bother using the workout since it has issues.

My S2 had no issues counting laps in the pool back when I was swimming at my local YMCA. My water lock button from the control centre worked fine. So unsure why you would be having the same issue. Maybe try Apple Support?

I don’t swim often enough to call apple support. But I am traveling to Alaska to visit family in a month and there I swim allot and will see if the problem remains. Perhaps a software update resolved it.

I suspect maybe the usual caveats apply regarding how Apple tracks exercise and perhaps your heart rate isn't increasing enough to count as exercise?
