No, this isn't another "buy now or wait" question...I've already decided to wait!

Just curious as to historical laptop releases...when Apple makes an annoucement (e.g. - we've got a new MB or MBP we are releasing with a bigger HD/different processor/or whatever), do they generally have them readily available for immediate purchase on the website after the announcement, or is there a delay period of up to 1-2 months for them to get them out into the stores/web?

the vast majority are available on the day or shortly after. there are notorious cases like the 17" MBPs that took months...

They're usually available in Apple stores within a few days.

Back when the early 2008 MBP was released I was able to get mine in the Apple Store (sacramento) the same day it was announced. But they didn't arrive in store until around 8pm and by 9pm I was using it at home :D
