Laptop restarts after going into sleep mode

Can someone help me with this?

Often when my laptop goes into sleep mode, upon waking it I noticed that it has restarted. all the programs that I opened are closed.

has anyone else experienced this? if so what was the culprit?

Thanks but the fix you sent me has to do with closing the lid.

my problem doesn't happen when I close the lid. It happens when the computer is idle.

Did you try resetting the pram?

it's a 2013 rmbp running yosemite.

no i did not. I don't know what pram is.

This might be related to Yosemite though. My girlfriends' Macbook Pro (Late 2012 or early 2013, I don't remember..) would consistently crash, reboot, or fail to resume from suspend. After 2 motherboard replacements, Apple gave her a brand new macbook pro. I'd take it into Apple and see what they say if you're near a store, and especially if you have AppleCare.
