Have been using my laptop for a while and my legs are on fire. Why on earth cant they make these darn things with the processors behind the wasted space on the screens?

Surely that is better for heat transfer too?

I mean they did it with the iMac why not the laptops too?

Doing so would result in a much thicker lid, with the bottom's thickness relatively unchanged. In other words, you'd have a much thicker laptop.

Then the logic board and the RAM and all the other important stuff (besides HDD) would be behind the screen too, and that would make the laptop bigger, and maybe the weight would be off, so if the display is opened and tilted away from you, it could mean the laptop is off balance.
