I need recommendations for a large format color printer that will work with Mac OX 10.4.8, as well as Windows 2000. We want to print at least up to a 18 x 24 size. Also, may just go up to a B3 (13.9 x 19.7.
I just got the Epson R1800 - 13x44 max with roll paper.
It's working great under 10.4.8 via FW and I just got it hooked up to the XP piece of "wonder" via USB and it's printing - sounds totally different though??
Anyway, it's not big enough for you - but i've heard good things about the new Epson - the 3800? 4800? But apparently it has big ink containers, which might make it hard to use it all in 6 months.
The forums at dpreview have a lot of people using the bigger printers, that might help you some too!
Another vote for epson. We had a 1280 in school cranking out 11x17 prints that were GORGEOUS. I can't imagine that they large format offerings would be vastly different.
is what I use and it works great, 24" x whatever. The pro line includes 10/100 ethernet for networking and RIP software. If you're just using it for photos or flattened files and don't need it networked you can save $1000 and go for the regular 7800.
