Hey guys (and gals),
We just upgraded to a fibre attached storage in my office. I can download 1GB files off the server in about 10 seconds! However, when opening a 50MB PowerPoint document, it takes like 3-5 minutes! I assume this is an Office issue, but I wanted to see if anyone else experiences this issue.

I have tried it on Office 2008 and 2011. My machine is 10.6.8 client. The server is 10.7.3. The file does open within 10 seconds if I drag it to my desktop and open it locally.

Thanks for any insight.

I opened the same ppt file in keynote, and it opened in about 10 seconds. So it does appear to just be the way Office applications open files from the server, which is to say, not well. Anyone have any other suggestions?
