Hey gang, as our tired old G5's age, finding compatible drives at a good price is getting more difficult. I was hoping to get some drive models recommended and listed so we all have a reference what DOES work on the older SATA 1.5GB bus in our PowerMacs and iMacs. Smaller 80-250GB drives are easier to track down, so what all are you using thats 500GB+ in your Mac?

Currently in my quad G5 resides:
1TB Seagate ST31000528AS
500GB Hitachi HDP725050GLA360

Both have been going strong for at least 5 years now. Shopping for a large 1TB+ drive for my dual 2.7, so what do you recommend?

WD Black and WD Green. There are also some WD Scorpio Blues that will work.

I have a WD Black and a WD Green in my PowerMac G4. Both are 1TB.

I can check my boot drive later tonight. It's 1TB as well but came from a 2010 Mac Pro. Works just find in my G4.
