I recently got a new desk that has a surface that’s rough to the touch, so I bought this desk mat:

It feels very nice, I enjoy working on it, the only problem is that at 60x30cm, it’s far too narrow.

Can anyone recommend anything similar (or better of course) that’s ~90cm wide and no more than 45cm deep? There are plenty of options on Amazon, but I’d appreciate any help in narrowing them down to ones that both feel nice and are well made.

I've been using this one from Amazon for a couple of years now... it's reversible leather/leatherette and has worn extremely well... dimensions are roughly 92x43 cm.

Edit: BTW, I tried one of the "flannel" mats, but it was worthless... the surface area started to "ball up" and it basically started coming apart. Avoid those like the plague.

Thank you for the suggestion. The black/red version is a bit pricy here in Germany but the pink/blue one looks fair, I’ll give it a go.

From the reviews some people mention that it slides around on their desk, has that been an issue for you?

And I definitely want a mat made of plastic; my hands are pretty dry, so any kind of fabric would pull at my skin uncomfortably.

In my experience, the leather/leatherette (red/black and other color combinations of the same mat) stays put on my wooden desktop. The flannel version moved all over the place...
