A while back I came across an Apple LaserWriter Pro 630. I decided it would be nice to have a laser printer, even if it was 12 or so years old. I purchased a USB-Parallel cable for it so it would work with my 20" iMac G5 running Mac OS X 10.4. It started printing fine almost immediately (first print jammed, but after that it was okay for two or so prints). Then it just stopped working. It would either jam or spit out gibberish, something I'm told means that the computer is not sending it a Postscript print job. Also, sometimes it just won't do anything, even though its lights say its ready. Other times, it draws too much power (even though it's plugged into a powered hub) and the computer shuts off one of the keyboard's USB ports (cable's too short to reach the back).
Any ideas? I know it works because of those first few prints. I've also tried it on a pretty old Mac (Mac OS 8.x) via an ADB port and it worked just fine.
