I'd like to get a used iMac which is more powerful than my existing mid 2007 20" and which I can upgrade if necessary. My hobby is music composition and the 7,1 can't cope with some of the software, even though maxed to 6GB ram.
Can someone advise which model was the last/best one suitable for DIY repairs and upgrades e.g. HDD, processor, screen?
