Don't know if this is common knowledge.... certainly wasn't to me... i was so close to jailbreaking my iPhone last night just for MobileScrobbler until i stumbled across a thread talking about it....

Basically Last.Fm release a beta Mac desktop client which now includes scrobbling support for the touch devices. Just download the latest version from the site, 1.5.3 for the Mac anyway, and it now works.

Thanks
Jamie

I'm talking about the DESKTOP app ... since i mentioned "Mac" ... try reading posts before commenting

The iPhone last.fm app just streams music but doesn't do scrobbling of music you play in the ipod app.

The new version of last.fm desktop software now updates your profile with the tracks played on your touch devices.

Up till now you had to jailbreak and install mobilescrobbler.app or similar to get scrobbling

This has been out for a while now

I have been scrobbling my iPod Touch tracks with the last.fm mac client since xmas 2007

Every time I've connected my iPod touch since I first installed Last.fm on my Mac (July 2008), it's scrobbled all my recently played tracks.

Sorry for clearly wasting everyones time then :p

iPhone support just completely bypassed me then ... oh well

Last summer when I installed this on my iPhone, it told me to download and instal the desktop version to be able to scroggle. Ever since then, everytime I connect my phone, the desktop app opens and everything I played on my iPhone shows up on the desktop app.

Yep, been out for ages now.

HOWEVER -- it doesn't always work. In fact, it's been so frustratingly non-workable for me, that I've just given up on it. I'm not the only one too -- a lot of people are complaining about this on their boards...
