Harry Potter was the center of seven novels, but he'll star in eight films. The final book in the wildly successful series will be made into two films, the Los Angeles Times reported Wednesday.

To me, I think they're just trying to make the most money possible. With the books over, and no sequels or prequels, they want to keep raking it in. On the negative side, we will have to wait longer to see all of them and the series will be less congruent. On the positive side, this will allow the last movies to be more true to the book and keep more details intact.

Please weigh in!:)

That's ludicrous :p

I loved the seventh book, sure, but most of it is them being miserable in a tent. They could make this into 5 minutes in a film.

2 films is just for more money and I very bad idea.

i don't know. i can go either way, it seems they r just trying to milk it for more money, but hopefully they actually are going to just make it more "complete" more details in it..

This is a cool idea! This way they will be able to cover the book in greater detail. However, some of the younger fans might not wanna wait one to two years in between the two parts.

I have yet to finish the 5th book - I'm a horrible person.

Considering I know about 5 people who hated the last HP movie due to things skipped over or being rushed this is not necessarily a bad idea. As always it depends on how it is executed.
