Just wondering if anybody uses SMC Fan Control with their iMac.
I wonder if it actually works.
GPU temps can be brought down very easy if you raise HDD/ODD drive fan. I just wonder if it's the actual GPU temperature or some sensor near by since there is no dedicated GPU fan control in SMC.

Anybody?

Yep I use it keeps all temps down. cooler electronics longer lasting is the goal.

I use SMC Fan control on my 2010 iMac as well. For my situation, I set the 3 x fans a small 300 RPMs faster. re: base at 1,200 RPMs instead of 900 & 1,000 RPMs. Running slightly faster then factory default works on 2010 iMac.

Note: Ensure one uses the updated SMC Fan control. I hear the previous version doesn't work well with some 2011 iMacs. re: http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/23049/smcfancontrol
