i am almost going to buy a mbp 2.53ghz.
I am a windows till now but have been attracted to mbp and osx.
I also have the option of buying hp dv5t with bluray.
need advice from windows converted to mac users

Ask yourself what you will use it for, you have not discussed this.

Both the MB and MBP are excellent computers. I switched earlier this year, and have a MBP and I'm very happy with it. However, while OS is terrific, it is not the same as Windows, thus, give yourself time to get used to it and don't be afraid to ask for help and advice.
