I currently have sprint and it works well where I’m at. I’m wondering how the priority is for virgin users.

For those who don’t know? Virgin mobile is offering a year of service for a dollar if you buy an iPhone from them or the Apple Store and port it to them.

Tempted to go to the Apple store and buy a new iPhone 8+ for me and my wife

Has anyone taken advantage of this deal? They said you can unlock the phone after 14 days.

You are being lied to. Interesting to note that they say 14 days, the length of the return period after which you cannot return the phone.

Per their policy…12 months of service before they will unlock.

https://www.virginmobileusa.com/legal#unlocking
They do unlock, on request, after 14 days, whether or not you cancel your VM USA service. This only applies to iPhones bought directly from VM or Apple on the "Inner Circle" plan. The 12 month policy applies to all other VM phones, including iPhones bought prior to the "Inner Circle" plan.

There has been massive amounts of bad information, much of it from VM reps (!), about this policy. Some people are still reporting badly informed reps being unwilling to unlock phones without a bit of an argument. Insisting on an escalation seems to get things taken care of.

It would be nice if VM updated the verbiage in their online T&C, so it would be clear to everyone.
