Hi,
what would YOU do if you could go to the store and pick up a last gen 2.4 15" pro and upgrade it to 4gb ram

OR

order the new 15" midrange (9600m) with a free ipod, then sell the ipod and mail in the rebate

for the SAME price???

I ordered the new 15" yesterday, but noticed today they were having a sale on the last gen 15". Are the new features/upgrades worth the extra hassle of buying it (and selling the ipod, mailing in to get a rebate), and not having a physical store to go to?

Heee...last gen all the way! Sorry...but the current gen MBP truly doesn't appeal to me. And vintage stuff rulez! ^____^ But, really, it's all up to you. I don't want to end up shaping your opinions.

You still can get a free iPod (after rebate) with older generation macbook pro if you are student. Of course you have to buy it at the apple store.

I guess so, but then I would have to fly somewhere where there's an Apple Store:p

Anyway, I'm writing this on my new 2.4 pro:D No regrets so far at least...
