I have a late '06 13" MacBook that I messed up the port for connecting speakers.

Someone accidentally tripped over the cable. So now in order for it to work, I gotta have it slanted inside the port. I know it's not the wire cause I already tried a new one. And same results.

Anyway, my question is is this an easy fix? Do I need a new board?

Thanks for the info

Sounds as if something came unsoldered from the logicboard. It maybe fixable, if you're good at soldering. But a new logicboard would be the quickest, easiest fix.

You could always use a USB sound card, many are compatible with Mac OS X and they are much cheaper (20 to 50 USD) than getting a "new" logic board.

You can also head over to iFixIt and see, if there are some guides helping with your problem.
