Hi,

In another thread I talked about my little project (Macbook --> MacBook Pro).
This very same MacBook has a rare odd issue, it will not sleep when lid closed.

I've tried a PRAM reset, SMC reset and looked what the Sleep mode was in the terminal. it's 3, the most common one.

Also, when woken up from sleep, it randomly shows screen discoloration. But this only occurs when it is woken up from sleep.

Also clamshell mode does not work, the MacBook screen stays on..
Although the MacBook does sleep when I manually choose to do so.

The MacBook works perfectly fine except for this.

2 issues:

- Won't sleep when lid closed
- Random screen discoloration (when wake up from sleep only!)

Anyone?

Below is a YouTube video I created to see the display issue:

(wait for the end to see the screen discoloration)

since it only happens after waking up from sleep, can it be bad RAM? As the sleep function uses the RAM?

I've seen it all. Today, I changed the RAM with two identical 4GB 1333Mhz Crucial RAM sticks. The problem, sometimes, when waking up from sleep persists. What can it be?

When I take a screenshot when the screen distortion occurs, it does not show the weird issue but just the normal screen in the screenshot..
