Late 2008 15 inch Macbook Pro display issues

Hi there!

I've got an issue with my laptop- I can't adjust my screen brightness level.

The display isn't unusable, but it's stuck at around 60% brightness, and I can't even make it black out. The screen shows me the little brightness gauge you get when you press F1 or F2, but there is no change in actual brightness.

I appreciate any and all help!

You might be able to change the brightness if you go to Settings -> Displays and then change the brightness slider at the bottom of the window.

Crap, I tried that, and it didn't work.

Any other advices?
