Hey all,

I'm having a weird problem with a 15" I bought in February (2009). I can boot up fine into the OS without any problems. But when I try to boot from the reinstallation CD to do a clean install, I keep getting a kernel panic. Any ideas?

Thanks everybody.

(And yes, I do need to do a clean install.)

Try resetting the PRAM

Are you using the reinstallation disc that came with your Mac, and not that of a different computer? Do you have any peripherals attached to the Mac, such as an ExpressCard reader or USB mouse? Try disconnecting everything except the power cord, and verify that you are using the correct Disc. If you still are having problems, contact Apple support.
