Hello,

I am considering purchasing Samsung 840 sata III 120GB drive for my macbook 13" late 2008 unibody.

I know that there are many ssd drives (intel, ocz) which experience slow speed issues with this macbook (Negotiated Speed Link resulting in 1.5 instead of 3Gb). Do you know if this drive works at full speed 3GB supported by the MacBook? If not which one do you recommend?

Thanks.

To be honest - you're not going to see the major difference between the 1.5 and 3 speeds, your macbook's bottleneck will be the DDR2 RAM and slower system bus. The speed of a SSD comes from the 0 seek times and superfast cache.

Others have reported that it did not negotiate the 3.0 link speed on the MPC79 Nvidia chipset

Hi!

Did you get around to installing the 120 gig 840 in your MacBook 5,1?

How is the negotiated link speed?

I'm installing one too, next week.
