Occasionally a fuzzy line appears on the display. The length of it's stay depends on the position of the display or when I press on a certain part of the display.

What can this be???

Is there something there when no power is on? Could it be damaged? Could be a bad display. Mine had an unfortunate accident a couple years ago and I had to have it replaced.

Thanks for the reply. No, when power is off there is nothing. When power is on, sometimes the line shows sometimes it doesnt.

Most likely it's the lcd panel. A while back a friend had a 2007 MacBook Pro with a similar problem. I took the display apart and put some layers of tape where the ribbon cable connects to the panel, so that there would be pressure on the cable when the screen was put back together. It didn't totally get rid of the problem, but it happened much less frequently.

I'm not too familiar with the 2008 model and if the screen can be dismantled.
