Hello,

I currently own an old late MBP 2.53Ghz with 6GB of ram and a 120GB Corsair SSD. My MBP is always connected to my new 27 inch Led Cinema display.

I was wondering about the benefits of upgrading my MBP to a new one. I do a lot of picture editing with Aperture and photoshop. I also play wow and I have to say the CPU temp is always near 100C even with a laptop cooler under the MBP.

So I was wondering if I would see a speed increase on Aperture. And, I wouldn't want a temp increase while playing wow of course!

This is assuming I'll transfer my SSD but not the ram since this isnt the same clock speed.

Well considering the new Sandy bridge processors blow the c2d out of the water I would say it's a huge increase in speed within any processing let alone Aperture. But I have also read the new snb computers have been running a bit hot.

How do you like your set up? I just ordered a 256 gb ssd and 8 gb of RAM for my late 2008 uMBP. Is it nice and fast? How is the battery life?
