Late 2008 MBP - Is the Battery Lid supposed to slide up and down?

After latching the battery cover, is it normal to be able to slide the cover up and down with your fingers. Its flush with the case, just slides up and down. is that normal? It moves about the thickness of a finger nail.

Multiple people are having this issue, if you bought at the apple store take it in to get it replaced...

Don't take it back yet. It is a very simple fix. It took me 30 seconds to fix it. You can do one of two things. You can adjust the large panel position by loosening a few screws or the easy fix is to very slightly bend the four tabs that hook the access panel to the front lip of the notebook.
