I have a late 2008 Unibody Macbook Pro. Recently, I found that the black plastic strip of the left hinge start to loose. It is a little bit loose and I could see the cables inside.
Having been to the local Apple Authorized reseller, they said they need to send it off to their engineers to have an inspection. Since the item has been out of warranty, I just am worried about the cost of this repair.
So do you guy have similar story as me, and how much you have paid for the repair.
(P.S. I am based in the UK)

Thankfully, they replaced the whole display for me for free, since Apple foot the bills.
