So I am contemplating upgrading my mbp to 16gb (2x8gb @1333), but I am wondering if anyone has tried this, and did it work? I tried researching this and all I found was people saying that 6gb @ 1066 is the most that my late 2008 will handle. I know this is not true because I have 8gb (2x4gb @1333) in it right now!

All the comments I found on newegg about this 16gb ram is coming from 2011 mbp owners, or they didnt say what model they owned.

Let me know if you have found out one way or the other

6GB is the max for Early 2008 (non-unibody) MBPs. Late 2008 (unibody) MBPs support a maximum of 8GB of RAM.

Not possible on the Late 2008 MBP.

You can find specs on all Apple products, including maximum RAM:

Hey that actual Maximum Ram link is very helpful, thanks! I tried the crucial tool yesterday from my mac, and the information it displayed was WAY incorrect. lol.

Thank you for the advice!
